Should You Reroll in Chaos Zero Nightmare?

Rerolling in Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN) isn’t as brutal or time-consuming as in most gacha titles, but for Captains who want the perfect start or smoother progression, it’s still a necessary evil.
This reroll guide walks you through the entire process, step-by-step — from your first login to when you should stop — so you can maximize your early pulls without wasting precious time. Whether you’re chasing your dream 5★ combatant or aiming for meta-ready teams, this guide helps you reroll efficiently and start strong.

Reroll Process: Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Log in using a STOVE account. The game opens with a guided combat tutorial with limited actions. Once you complete the prologue and name your Captain, you’ll finish Prologue 1 and begin your journey.

Story Missions You Must Complete

You’ll need to progress through the following missions before reaching your main lobby (where the rerolling magic happens):
Chapter 1:
  • Prologue 1 — The Blue Pot
  • Prologue 2 — A Promise Unkept
  • #01 — Back to the Blue Pot
  • #02 — Eye of the Storm
  • #03 — Threads of Deception
  • #03-01 — Life Core
Completing Chapter 1: #03 unlocks your lobby — your main source of free rewards and mail gifts used for rerolling.
Tip: finish #03-01: Life Core for an extra 30 crystals (you’ll thank yourself later).

The whole process takes around 20 minutes, or 15 minutes if you skip cutscenes and fast-forward dialogues (hold “>>”).

Which Banners to Pull for Rerolling

Avoid wasting your early resources:
Skip the Beginner Banner (Support for New Captain – Special Rescue Request) — despite the “50 pulls,” the drop rates are underwhelming, and you’re unlikely to land multiple 5★ combatants.
Avoid Partner Banners early — 5★ Partners are luxury units that shine only once you have a solid Combatant lineup.
Recommended Strategy:
  1. Use your 35 Rescue Anchors on the Standard Combatant Banner.
  1. Exchange Moment of the Radiant Traveler in the Shop → Memory Archive → Traveler for 1 extra limited pull.
  1. Spend all crystals (≈9-10 pulls) on the current Limited Banner.

When to Stop Rerolling

If your favorite waifu or husbando appears — congratulations, you’ve already won the game.
For optimal reroll efficiency:
  • Aim for two or more 5★ Combatants
  • Secure two healers (you’ll need dual teams by level 40)
Once you hit that combo, stop rerolling and start progressing.
For synergies between combatants visit the respective combatant page for build, or watch out for news on Tiertactix.com/chaos-zero-nightmare.

How to Reset and Reroll Again

Thankfully, CZN makes rerolling painless.
  1. Tap the Gear icon ⇒ Account Settings
  1. Select Reset Server
  1. Type your account name to confirm
Your account will reset to the initial login state tied to your STOVE ID — no manual data wipes or uninstalling needed.
